What kind of fluid?

My cousin and I will be putting in my new clutch and flywheel soon and I need to know what kind of tranny fluid the tranny takes. It's for an 00 Si. I was told it is probably regular motor oil (10-w30), but not sure.

when i changed my fluid i put in redline 90wt mtf in for the summer and it works great. i think im going to put the normal redline mtf in for winter and use it through out the year. i think it works great with smoother shifts ect.

Thanks guys, I am going to use Mobil 1 Syhcromesh. We started working on it today, but we stopped to watch the Steeler game and we got a little side tracked. we will be dropping the tranny tomorrow and finishing up. It isn't as hard as I thought, just seems more time consuming. So far the hardest part was getting the axles out. Once we got them out we realized we needed a couple more stands and another jack oh well.

Read in your manual, or just go to auto zone and ask them what kind of fluid your car takes, is it that hard? My car takes regular motor oil - 10W30, so its not always just honda mtf.

Ooohh yes. Go with the Synchromesh. It is a tad pricey, but well worth it. You'll feel the difference in the shifter immediately.

gm syncromesh or pennzoil syncromesh (same as the gm syncromesh but a lot cheaper) or honda MTF if you cant find the syncromesh.
