What type of header........
Lost on what brand to get and where to get it from. I narrowed it down to the ones I am considering, Greddy, Comptech and the JDM Type R one. Anyone have any suggestions or different brands. I don't have a shitload of money, I just want to know what I am going to end up spending. I see anywhere between 350-500. I want to get one really bad, but have to see if the funds are there or not and if they are then I may just jump in and order it. I am trying to save for my wedding next year and my fiance gets pissed if I blow stupid cash. But I need the header to tie it all in I/H/E.
Also What type: 4-2-1 or 4-1 ...1 piece 2 piece, SS or ceramic.
HHHEEELLLLPPPPPP.......looking for personal opinions

Get the Comptech 4-2-1. Thats what I'm getting.
Here is the header test results if you haven't seen them.

I'll second that. I'm getting the Comptech set up one day. I'm actually on the same boat as you are. Saving up for the wedding. So I can't get the set up right away.

It mentions it used an ITR, will these results hold pretty much true for an Si. I know the HP won't be the same, but in the end is the header that is on top going to stay on top?
BTW Congrats on the engagement and remember, you hit the lottery, that's where you got the money for the header
Peace

you said you have an AEM cold air intake rite?
well, the cai is for top end. and 4-2-1 is for low to midrange power, i think you'll lose a bit of top end.
you can get the 4-2-1 header if you want, but if you want more top end power i would avoid getting the 4-2-1 and get the JDM ITR 4-1 header. yes, you have to get the collector ( i think its 2.5" if i'm not mistaken) but you'll get top end power for sure. personally i think Comptechs are a bit overprised but thats just my opinion.
whatever you choose, good luck and let us know how you like it.

Yeah the results should remain the same minus some HP. The B16a is a cousin of the B18C5 in a sence.
I like the comptech, sure it is pricy, but you get what you pay for. Also the JDM ITR header is ugly!!!

Get the DC Sports 4-1.........Short runners like the comptech 4-2-1 work best for forced induction. e.i Kamakazi and a Turbo exhaust manifold. 4-1 Long runners work best with naturally aspirated vehicles. Go check the DC Sports 4-1 vs the 4-2-1. Its obvious the gains from the 4-1 out do the 4-2-1 with little or no "midrange" power. I take it your car is a daily driver with no aspirations of being an all motor 12 sec killer or a turbo or supercharged monster. You will get the best bang for the buck with the DC Sports 4-1. Go to www.groupbuycenter.com I know they have a group buy on them. Just look at all the group buys till you find it. Peesh

yo black si, comptech dosent make 4-1 headers, it only comes in 4-2-1. its your choice. but i'd get the stainless DC 4-1. i have the ceramic 4-1 but i should've gotten the stainless steel. sleps myself.
good luck.

I know DC is a reputable name, but is it good quality. I remember someone knocking DC, would Greddy be a better choice. And why SS instead of Ceramic? I heard one of them cracks! Oh yeah, it is a daily driver, she is my first my last, my everything...lol

I'll just say this.....DC has been making headers for a long time and has dyno proven results.......long term. I in no way endorse the company, but do believe they make a good product. In the end the choice is up to you. I like the SS because of the way it discolors and the header itself for what I'm using it for. Every product you purchase has it's flaws. With newer products it just takes time before alot of people buy them and find out what they dont like about it. I have heard good and bad about DC headers, but on the average, most people are very happy with the price, quality, and performance of their products. Hey for $300 you can't go wrong!!!!!!

Alright, I guess noone has Greddy headers.........
So know it's down to 4-1 DC or the Comptech!!!!!
Come on people, their has to be a lot more people out there with headers or a bunch of liars..lol.
I think I am swaying towards DC then. I know comptech is a good header, but DC seems to be overuling.
On a side note, when you have I/H/E do you really feel a power diff. Right know I have I/E...Well i have to put my exhaust back on, but I was expecting a little more power with these two. But do you feel it when you first tie it all together?
Peace
