Damn, I wished the 'search' function worked. There was a thread with this same subject a couple of weeks ago.

Anyways, the cars are evenly matched. The GSR has more hp and torque, but the Si weighs less and has a closer ratio tranny.

I the end the better driver will win.

Every time we have a gs-r vs. Si thread it goes to hell.

From all my experience, its a drivers race. The cars are so close in performance that all it would take is a good driver in the Si to take the GS-R.

This weekend I ran against a GS-R that also only had an intake (short ram) and I beat him every time. His best run was a 15.6 mine was a 15.5

He claimed he ran a 15.2 the night before (didn't have his slip), but we ran 9 times and he couldn't seem to pull it off then.

just for the record, the gsr weighs only about 30 pounds more than an si, and the reason the gears are longer is because it has more power in the lower rpm, unlike the si, which doesn't make any power until vtec hits. the gsr would have the advantage, with equally skilled drivers the gsr would win any race.

skills. though the gsr has the advantage performance wise, if you're the better drive then you have a pretty decent chance of beating it.

A 2000 GSR weighs 2672 lbs, a 2000 Si weighs 2601 lbs. Thats a 71 lb. difference. http://www.edmunds.com/
