Someone just came up to you and was like, "How much do you want for your car?" This kid came up to me, having previously owned a GSR, and fell in love with my car basically. I think his parents have money, and might buy it for him. He said, if I sell it to him, not to tell his parents all that is done to it. He said whatever I want for it. I have an AEM CAI, DC sports 4-1 header, Tanabe Hyper Medallion cat-back, Apex-i VAFC, Denso Iridium plugs, Tanabe Sustec full coilovers, 17" TE-37's, DC sports rear lower tie bar, DC Sports short shift w/ GReddy shiftknob, white NR Auto guages, Autometer air/fuel ratio, and oil pressure pillar guages, Autometer monster tach, side markers, PIAA's all the way around, Ingalls rear camber kit, and a custom white interior. Its a 200 Si with just over 25000 miles on it. Oil always changed at around 3000 miles. And a partridge in a pear tree! I said $22,000 for it and he didn't say no or anything. My pay-off on my car is $12,000 so I was going to put $11,000 on a used red S2000 with 14,000 miles on it. They want $29,000 for it, so it would come out to around $19,000. My payments would only be like $70 or $80 more and insurance would only be $26/ month more. What would you do?
Chris
P.S.-I forgot to mention the AEM cam gears, Type R valve springs, clear headlights, and CTR cams not installed yet.
Im kind of looking at it 2 ways. Both the sentimental value because I've had my car brand new (only 8 miles on it), plus the work I put into it. And on the other hand, I am looking at the performance issues of the S2000 obviously outweighing those of the Si. But I still love my baby. We'll see. I have to sell my Si first.
Mods: AEM CAI, Koni Yellows, Eibach Pro-Kit and Comptech Sway/Tie Bar Kit
I have 3 friends that have S2Ks. As much as I have driven the car and LOVE it, at least in Columbus OH, it is NOT a daily driver. You have to be surprisingly careful in the rain but it is manageable. As for snow, leave it in the garage. If you pick up a cheap old civic, keep it on the street and drive it during poor weather, get the S2K and have a blast. Otherwise, the S2K is not the most practicle car.
get everything you can out of the si, take the new price and add the prices of all the parts and multiply by .90 for deprecition (just to be fair) Then go for it. I love my si but i would sell for either a type-r or s2000.
If you are interested in selling your ctr cams let me know. If you really like your car keep and save your 75 dollars a month for a new car down the road, like a ctr or rsx-r if they ever come here.
that sounds kinda sketchy, do u show/tell anyone whats under your hood and what mods u have? i hope he wasn't bluffing just to get info out of u.... sorry to question it but i'm sure anyone that has had an Si for long knows about issues of theft of aftermarket parts or even in my friends case, his stock center console unit (a/c, radio, etc) from his 99Si

See that's the thing. Noone really KNOWS whether or not those rides are coming to the states. I have to jump on an opportunity like this one when it presents itself. But the only way Im selling anything is if "The Price Is Right!" Im going to drive the s2000 tomorrow morning. Who knows. Maybe the salesman will make me a deal I can't refuse.

I didn't show him anything under the hood. I just let him sit in it. I went through all the mods so quick, he probably doesn't remember half the things I said. He was in such aww of the car (not to toot my horn), I don't think he was really concentrating on the car. You don't think Im ripping him off for $22,000 w/ all the mods do you? Im gonna put it in the for sale forum and see what I get. Thanx fellas,
Chris

no you ain't ripping him, HE is the one to decide if he's gonna
buy it or not. Even if you asked 100.000$ you would not be
ripping him. He would rip himself if he'd agree.
if u say 22,000 and he takes it the u have a deal.
