Hey guys, I happen to be a new Honda owner here! I bought a brand new 4 door black Civic Si, and I have to say it''s a wonderful car in every department. I do have a few questions though,
1. I don''t really listen to my dealership. They told me that since new Hondas are so precisely manufactured, there is no break-in period, and you can go full throttle whenever you desire. Even the service guy told me that. I know this can''t be true, but I''ve taken the car at full throttle twice while racing, but took it very easy after that. Is this going to ruin my car? PS: I ONLY HAVE 300 miles on it!!!
2. I''ve hit v-tec maybe 6 times, so is that bad too?
3. While trying to race a guy at arolling start I downshifted from 4th to 2nd pretty quick and it was kind of jerky, is my transmission still going to be alright?
You only really need to break it in when you first get it for like 40-50 miles or so, these cars are ready to be beat on from the get go. The car will be fine, there was even one case where someone who beat on it right away had a higher dyno reading after putting on some mods than someone who used some break in technique and had similar mods. Oh, and your tranny will be fine. Check out 8thCivic.com - 8th Generation Civics there's a lot of info about this on there.

its spelled VTEC .. and the car is always engaged with it on..so you dont "hit it" .. and becareful next time from shifting from 4th to 2nd .. before you blow up a cylinder or something .. scary haha ..

your shit will be fine. and when u down shift from 4th to 2nd just rememeber your going to be in vtec most likly so rev higher to compensate for the extra pull even though u have no mods. the jerky could be u just not know how to down shift right ... no offense or ne thing... some people really cant drive a manual that own one. i love seeing people jerk and bob off the line a crack up laughing.
Mods: vtac boost controller, 2 bored out kanooter valves, flux capacitor(1.21 jigawatts), and synthetic blinker fluid
its a honda i think you are fine.......oh yeah who cares if you put a dash between v and tec im pretty sure unless you are a retard you still get the point. i dont think a dash makes a difference, and welcome to the world of honda!

check this shit out!!! i know its not a new si(or an si at all) but i think you will get the point its pretty hard to blow up a civic motor or tranny, unless you run it out of oil or boost the shit out of it without building it! these guys abuse the shit out of this hatch and it takes forever before it quits!
