Young whippersnappers - I need some suggestions
I'm looking for more "umph!" from my 08 si. I don't want to super mod it, just something that is relatively easy to do that won't void my warranty.
Any ideas... cold air intake maybe? Being 50 state legal is nice to have. Being able to hold a beer while I do my work is better.
Cheers!

You all sound disappointed, but in the end all I really want is more than stock on the performance end, and much better braking capability. I'm quite frankly more willing to spend 5k on fantastic brakes than engine mods, but that is just me. I'm carrying my children after all.

i just told you how to drop a half second on your 1/4 mile and give you better transient throttle response. i/h/e reflash should be good for 25-30whp increase on your car.

Thanks for the information on intake, headers, and exhaust. I appreciate your information. Can you point me in the right direction for specific brands to look at or brands to avoid? Also, any experience on actually passing California smog with these mods?

Check carbotech for brakes . Carbotech Order . Something like a bobcat is a great street pad.
also a slightly stiffer suspension is a great addition to braking. You can go all out with coilovers or just a mild spring like an H&R *OE* Sport.
Also if you are still on the factory tires, try to wear them out so you can get some good ones
The new si has decent power, so making it more fun to drive with better handling is probably a better path.
I honestly wouldn't bother with engine mods (intake/header/exhaust). Your gains will be severely limited without a programmable ecu. You can also check Hondata - Honda ECU Modification and Enhancement for reflash options, but suspension and brakes are a better way to go.
You might also want to go hang out on K20A.org .:. The K Series Source . Honda / Acura K20a k24a Engine Forum

I just checked hondatas web site and saw that their reflash raises the rev limit to 8600. You couldn't pay me to rev that motor that high because it uses a balance shaft driven oil pump. One of the first things people do when building a k-series is get rid of the balance shafts and go for the better pump from the rsx k20's. Even with those, its known that they begin to cavitate between 8600-9000.
