Higher speed, Accord, CL or RSX
Guys, I need help from you, I'm planning to buy a 2003 car
and now I'm looking on Accord coupe V6 3.0 6 speed 2003 or Acura CL 3.2 type S 6 spd, and RSX type S 2.0 I4 6 speed.
I was looking and looks like the Accord has 240 HP, CL 260 HP and RSX 200 HP,
I really want to have a faster car but also not spend to much money on gasoline.
My question here If I race RSX I4 6spd against the Accord or the CL, can I win, maybe is a dumb question and actualy I'm not planning to race at all but just want to know if the bigger the motor the faster you run or the transmision spd can also give you more speed.
Can some body help me to understand?

Well i have driven the 03 Accord many times and i was quite surprised with its performance at the stock level. It handles impressively for stock and it has decent acceleration too. I slammed the pedal to the floor and it took a second or two to get grip then it accelerated 0-40 pretty fast, but its acceleration got slower 40-103. I took it to 103 and it kept pretty steady which wasnt what i was expecting.
The RSX Type-S out of the box looks like a racer with its aggressive stance and wing. I've ridden in one with basic bolt ons and it did good acceleration wise and it had good handling. I can't give you as much detail about this one as i did the accord because i did not drive it. But, its a close competition between the rsx and accord.

Stock for stock
Accord V6 6 speed > RSX-s
CL Type S 6 speed> RSX-s
Accord + CL = drivers races
Now start modding and its a whole new ball game. You can SC the rsx and CL but not the Accord.
If i had to choose from the three....I'd probably go CL type S 6 speed..If im not mistaken it has LSD

Thanks to you guys,
I will probably go for the RSX, looks sportier than Accord or CL and less expensive for gas milage.

It depends on what you want to do with it but the RSX has 10x more potential then the rest...I've driven all of them stock and the accord it too heavy...handles like a 75 caddy and you can only get the V6 with an automatic transmission. The 175hp I4 is just not enough. CL's are okay but they are hard to find especially Type-S's and even harder to find in 6-speed's. RSX-S will dust a V6 accord and will run a Auto CL Type-S close. with Intake and race header you will destroy even a Type-S 6mt. the power to weight ratio is the most important thing when your talking about speed and although the Accord and CL have more "power" they are not as fast.

"the power to weight ratio is the most important thing when your talking about speed"

The RSX has more potential due to weight and availability of parts. The 3.2's that come in the CL and TL are not a big choice among tuners and that makes them harder to work with. My opinion is bias since I own one but it I have love the RSX I will never, not own one.

This is HP divided by weight.
A car that has 250hp and weighs 1800lbs. is going to be faster than a car that has 350hp and weighs 3000lbs.
The moral of this story is...less weight + more power = FAST

This is true I forget the 2003's actually have balls...Their handleing isn't quite as good as the RSX-S's in my opinion but I haven't been on stock suspension in 4 years...wow the new gen. accord was out then...god I'm getting old. I would still get the RSX-S

well ive owned both the AV6 and rsx-s and i enjoyed the av6 more. as far as handling, i added the tl sway bar which helped it ALOT! . if hes looking to mod, then yea i'd go with the rsx.

true but how much powe rare you trying to make. you caould prolly make more streetable power easier with a bigger v6 granted it weighs more. te accord v6 run's a mid 14 stock which is on par with the rsx. if you want a fast touring car go with the accord. if you want a boy racer pocket rocket rsx. power to weight is important but if you can make more streetable power with a bigger motor then you offset the formula. do you want a fast highway car, an aut-x'er, drag racer, stop light racer. each car excels in a different category
