I'm tired of paying for 93 gas. Is there an octane booster to booste from 89???
I'm running a stock engine 2002 type-s. Can I buy 89 gas and add an octane booster. If so, what kind and how much. The gas tank holds 13.2 gallons.

sell your car and buy something cheaper. you can run 91 in there, it is normally 10 cents cheaper.

well, figure that 89 is about 20-25 cents cheaper per gallon than 93. so figure the average driver would go through about 2 fill ups per week at 10 gallons per fill up, that is only $2.00 to $2.50 more per fill up for the 93 octane than the 89. plus factor in the "octane booster" which i would not trust in the first place.
so, on the high end figure an extra 5 bucks a week for 93, thats about $250 per year.
this is almost negligible in the whole scheme of things when you want to properly maintain a car, pay for insurance, and have to spend money on gas anyway. i would much rather opt for the proper fuel and spend a little more money now than skimp out and pay for the potentially greater consequences later on.

Hi there
I can help.
Yes, add 4 oz acetone 100% pure, in per 10 gallons of fuel.
That will raise the octane and provide you with what you want.
Its very cheap. 1 gallon of it might last you a year.
It also adds more fuel economy, you might get 1-3 more MPG.
Jeff
