Please Help

I have an acura rsx type s. Starting last week, I have been hearing some rattlingly/vibration noise. When I start my car , I can hear the vibration noise and hear it even after shifting gears. I don't feel any vibrations on the gas pedal nor the brakes.

Tonight as I was driving, I am hearing the vibrations while driving. Anyone have any suggestions?

it's inside the car? just push on stuff that could be loose when you hear it (or have someone else do it for safety's sake maybe). if it's outside the car then my answer's different, but it seems like you're saying it's inside.

great username btw welcome to SHO.

Last night, the noise really got worse. Do you still think it could be something loose? The weird thing is I had a co-worker pop open the hood while I started the car and couldn't hear the vibration at all....however, this morning when I started the car, I did hear it. This is bizarre.

By the way, I'm a golf-a-holic.

Well, not from the dashboard...kind of like in the middle (between the steering wheel and the dashboard)

Thanks. I forgot to mention that my car has a sports kit, therefore it has a side kit and the front kit. It rides lower than normal acura rsx. Could it be that maybe I might have hit something because it rides so low. Do you know what it might be?

there's really no telling just asking like this.. sorry but there's really no way to tell you over the internet without a video or at least specifying the general area that the noise is coming from and what it sounds like (if you can verbalize it, sometimes it's tough i know). i'm saying, i thought you meant in the car, but now you think it could be the body kit. i'm thoroughly confused.

btw golfer chicks rock my world.

You know, ask me anything about golf and we can talk, however, ask me something about cars, I get lost. LOL

I had a friend replace my brake pads on my acura and he thinks it could be the heat shield on the catalytic converter. It was pretty loose. However, he wasn't comfortable about removing it.

remove it & don't park in long grass.

well, or short grass if it's lowered.

My friend isn't 100% sure the heat shield is the problem that's making the noise. I'm taken my car into the shop tomorrow so I'll let you know the outcome.

you could get it in the air, make it rattle, and stick it with a big screwdriver or something all over till it stops if you don't want to take it to a shop.

Ok, the service rep called and told me that there is a oil leak in the valve cover gasket. He said there was about 1 qt oil left. He said the technician put like 4.8 qt of oil. The service rep made a suggestion that every time I fill the car up with gas to check the oil too. He told me its not making the noise anymore. So, I guess that was the issue. They have to order the part, therefore, I won't get my car until tomorrow.
