Whats the diffrence between the Base K20 and SI K20?

Yes i drive a Base rsx, but i have big intentions on it. I am trying to find out what i can do to get the same HP as the Civic Si, so i dont have to go out and spend 3000 on a JDM K20...

Can some one tell me what makes the Si k20 so much faster than the base? so i can get my car up to that same hp

The Civic SI uses the K20a3 where the RSX uses the K20a2. VTEC kicks in at 2500 RPMs on the K20a3 where the K20a2 VTEC kicks in at the normal 6000 RPMs. Those are the only real differences I know of.

EP3 SI = base rsx. both are k20a3

new 06+ si is a k20z3. a variant of the 05-06 rsx type-s (k20z1)

there are too many differences to remember. IM is different, TB inlet is difference size, cams are different, exhaust breathes better, etc etc.

all ivtec have a low-mid-high cam. hence...Ivtec. just that high cam on a k20a2(z1)(z3) are more aggressive and thats why you hear the differences in high cam crossover
