Do you see cars as a hobby or as a lifestyle in your life?
I'm asking because I see a decent amount of females on msg boards who have cars and such, but not so many that actually talk about working on them or racing them. Is that because it's more of a hobby? Or is it a big part of your life?
Obviously, if you're a pro race car driver you're not going to be posting on message boards all day, but there ought to be a lot more females that are interested in working on their cars. Hopefully people aren't afraid to post...
for me it used to be a hobby... now its a permanent lifestyle.
1. i work in a shop
2. i drag race
3. i started drifting
4. i actually work on my own cars, build my own engines and customers. machine, fabricate and weld.

"Ladies FIRST....that's how we finish"
There's actually a lot of ladies that very competent and are into cars as a lifestyle or at least a very strong hobby.
For example Rena who works at Signal Auto wrenches on her own her ride. Last week when I saw her she was installing a set of Tein coilovers on her car. Yoshie from the pro drifter from Drift Association/Formula D is an SCCA auto-x national champ and also works at Technosquare the Toyota race prep specialists. SHO member Furyokids has her CC degree in autobody.
Obviously there's a numerically larger amount of men who are into the scene, but as more and more ladies get exposed to cars and start to participate, things will change.

for me it's a lifestyle... I do my own work, i don't race but i show this year has been slow but previous years you would find me at a show almost every weekend...
I have an associates in auto tech. Even though I have that, and it use to be a lifestyle for me, now ive just drifted away and its become a hobby. its not that big of a deal when you do it all the time, it kinda becomes old. thats when you know youve been in the sport too long.
It has been turned into a lifestyle with me. When i started with cars i still wanted to go to college and do interior design. Now all i want is to work at Honda and work with cars. Someday hope to open my own JDM shop. I am a JDM geek i guess you could say lol. Now my style is all JDM I might as well just move to Japan!lol!
