n00b intro

ok, i'm new here. i HAD to join when i noticed that this forum had a womens section. i was begining to think Lisa Kubo and i were the only car girls in the world..... jk:P

anyway, a bit about myself. i'm 30....... i live in canada and its -8000000000C outside right now so its to cold to go out and strip more parts off my parts hoopty . i'm engaged to a wonderful and understanding man and a grandma to an adorable 5yo boy. i learned most of what i know about cars from my dad, he used to be a race mechanic and he raced 240z cars and he once modded a 78civic into V8 powered RWD pass anything on the roads domestic killer. while he was building that car he tought me how to do lots of stuff and told me that it was good for me to learn it so i wouldnt be at the mercy of some over priced shop when something breaks. well, he was right. since then i've modded lots of different cars and trucks. stuck V6's into chevettes and raced them stuck a turbo on an old old celica etc.

now i'm slowly modding my 3G civic. now i know most people arent into the older cars, but the 3G had some curb appeal to me. when i bought it, every body panel had been kicked in. even the hood and roof. the previous owner hit a deer with it which pushed in the frame up front and he backed into something which caved in the frame in the rear. the seats were shot, the interior was that old faded red plastic garbage. basically the car was in rough shape. oh and it has a rebuilt 1.3L with a grinding/howling 4speed trans that wont hold oil because of the hole in it....

now the car gets looks and compliments. people have trouble believing its a 20+ year old car. we spent 6 months in the garage trying to get the body straight. then we pulled it on the frame machines at his work. then we spent 19 hours painting it with some really super bright candy colours from BASF called Carrizzma. yes i did alot of the work. yes i painted it. well, with alot of help and support from my hubby

future mods include bigger brakes and i'm going to turbo my carb'd 1.3L engine. wish me luck! swapping in a rebuilt 5speed. new exhaust. finish building the interior, new shoes and a wetsand/reclear on my paint.

P.S. sry for the long post, i can get kinda long winded sometimes, and i like to ramble check my webpage for pics of my car, and some of my movie collectables and pics of my gaming room.
