Double check your wiring behind the deck to see what you did. You should use the ACC or remote turn on switch to turn on your CD player. Did you splice it into your ignition? Could you clarify your post... its kind of hard to understand.

Ya, your shouldn't have to disconnect your ground to turn off radio. You have both power wires hooked up to a constant source. One wire should be constant and one is ignition so that it'll turn on when you start car. I don't know the colours because I don't know what deck you're talking about. Usually red and yellow, one of these should be constant and the other not.

I think yellow is always constant when it comes to a headunit and red is the remote turn on for the headunit.

i know i shouldnt have to be disconnecting the ground its just that my ignition wire doesnt work..i worked when i first installed the head unit. when i turn the key the radio did not turn on and when i tested the wire with a bulb it didnt light up but the 12v wire did i dont know what happen to the wire maybe it shorted some where....also can a 12v wire accidently touching my chassis cause the fuse for the headlight to go out
