Anyone own the Kenwood KDC-MPV7019 MP3 deck?
I currently have a Pioneer (DEH-P8000R). I made my first mp3 cd early this morning and went out testing the units at 4 different shops. None of the employees had any clue to work any of the decks. It was pretty much pushing buttons and one was using the manuals.
I really am sold on the Kenwood at this time. I owned a Kenwood (5003) before upgrading to the Pioneer and NEVER had any problems with it.
Anyhow, about the 7019:
1) Is the face plate motorized when opening or does it just flop down and you push it back up once the cd is inserted?
2) Is this the model that has the angle button which will tilt the faceplate upward. This will be highly handy since my deck is in the lower pocket of my 98 Civic.
3) No shops had the remotes! I see the remote on this model has 1-10 numeric buttons. Will these buttons allow me to pop in a mp3 cd and hit *8* *4* and it goes to track *84*? I just can not see hitting the
Fwd button 84 times to get to that track.
4) Does anyone know the ID3 character limit on this model? If I remember correctly this model did display the entire text for my songs. And some were quite LONG!
5) I see the 619 is very similar. It doesn't have the sub woofer output correct? I need this output since my Punch amp does not have a x-over.
6) When hitting "ATT" to mute the cd player and when you push it again does the music slowly come back on to full volume? This is one thing I loved about my Kenwood (5003) deck and don't like about my $650 Pioneer
Thanks for any input you guys can give me on this deck!!

Man i thought i was the only one who wanted this deck everyone wants them alpines..but anyway..i've the 7019 for 2 weeks and satisfied but here's what i can answer:
1) Unfortunately its NOT motorized ..=( ...i dont really care though
2)Since its NOT motorized the the faceplate will face DOWN only motorized head units do that
3)I never actually used the remote yet since i barely got it but im sure u can do that...BUT for example if u have at least 20 folders loaded into your mp3 cd u can use the FM or AM button to switch between folders..its like switching your cd's in a cd changer but they're FOLDERS with probably 15 or more songs loaded in it..so in other words..its very DOPE and it loads fast too
4)I dont think there's a limit since it scrolled the whole text in this one song i had..just make sure that they are all correct before u burn them on your disc...i mean the ID3 tag
5)The 619 is the same exact thing except the sub output so YES pls. get the 7019 if u want that
6)Yes it does:
If u actually go out and buy this..then tell me about it and what you think coz i need someone to talk to about this deck whenever i have a problem or sumthin hehe but i think its worth it no doubt about it and tell me what stuff your gettin on your system since i have the same car as you except its an EX 98 Good times bud

Hey! Thanks for the info. I placed my order for the 7019 about two hours ago from etronics.com
It should be here next Thursday, I can't wait! I called Kenwood and the guy said just input the track # you want to skip to and then hit the fwd button and it jumps to that track. I like how you can make the 64 colors scroll. And the text is bad ass!! I paid $244 for the deck shipped UPS.
Now, I just have to figure out what exactly I'll need to wire this sucker in. I think I should be able to use the existing wire harness on my Pioneer to the car.
Should have paid like $20 extra and gotten this one.
But for installing it unhook your old wire harness from the old cd player. Then there should be a new connecter that comes with the Kenwood cd player that hooks up to the wire harness. Hook the same colors on the connecter to the wire harness then just plug it in the back of you Kenwood cd player. Let me know if this makes sense to you.

Damn!!! That display does look a lot better. Is that one motorized as far as the face plate? I didn't want a motorized one since I have to wait until it flips around or whatever to lift the cup holder. Pretty annoying with my Pioneer.

Not sure if its motorized I dont think it is but i'll let you know for sure today.

I just installed this cd player into my car 2 days ago. I really like the deck, but coming off a $675 Pioneer DEH-P8000R there are a few things I wish the Kenwood had...
What I HATE most:
--The remote! I absolutely HATE the fact that I can NOT adjust the bass / treble with the remote. It's size / shape is growing on to me, but I don't think I'll ever like it as much as the 8000's remote.
The display on the 7019 blows the digital city and planets AWAY from the 8000!!! At night with the rotating colors / red keys, it's AWESOME looking!!!
--I love the ATT feature and how it slowly comes back up to full volume when unmuted.
--I love how I can eject the cd when the key is taken out and the power is off. Couldn't do that with the Pioneer.
I can't remember if there is anything else I don't like about the 7019. Overall I am happy with the deck. Is there an optional remote that will allow you to adjust the bass / treble without touching the face plate buttons?
It wouldn't be so bad, but I have mine mounted just above the cup holders in my 98 Civic, so it's quite a reach for me....

Yeah,. love the ATT feature
I have yet to take my first mp3 cd out yet I have 118 tracks on it in one folder. I am still listening to mp3s to make sure they are clean and getting ready one day shortly to put together a cd with folders
Another thing I wish this deck had was a low pass filter for the mids and highs. I can't turn my system up nearly as high now since my 8000 did have this feature. But, this may be a good thing since now I keep the volume down a lot more which will save my ears

I hear these things will make the music cut off if to much power goes through them. I'm just going to keep it like it is. I'm not big into the bass scene anymore. A typical drive for me consists of Barry White, Air Supply, top 40, Rod Stewart or something along those lines with an occasional rap song. Windows are kept up (except Sat. nights ) so the music is pretty low :
