multiple sub question

ok, heres the deal. i have 2 infinity perfect 12's runnin off of a jbl bp1200.1 i have it wired so each sub gets 300 watts at a 4 ohm load. i was wondering if it is possible to wire a 15 inch sub on the same amp. the infinty's sound great but i am looking for a little more spl.

1200 watt amp only giving each sub 300watts? i am right arent i is that a 1200 watt amp? you should be able to wire that to give each sub 1200 pulling a total load of 2ohm from the amp. id say that would give you the spl your looking for.

are those subs DVC? and what is the ohm load of the voice coils, give us more info if you want a solution.

yes it is 1200 watts at 2 ohm, but i have the dvc's and running them at 8 ohms a peice, making the load on the amp 4 ohms. which 600 watts total. i had it wired where each sub got 600 watts but they just distorted when i cranked it. now they have about the same loudness but it is a lot clearer.

how about wire both of the infinity's in 2 ohm and turn the gain all the way back (lowest), set cross over around 50hz, turn off and bass boost on amp, lower the bass on the headunit. this should at least solve most of your problem. if you have a 4V preamp output on your headunit, forget what i said

u can add a 15" on it, just make sure you have DVC on it too so it won't confuse you that much.

To make sure I'm getting this straight, you want to run two 12's and a 15?? Not good since this combination of small/large cones will make your low end sound kinda muddy.

dont run 3 different subs. wire it so the coils are in parallel and subs are in parallel and turn down the gains. or you could get another sub. that will give you a 2.67 ohm load so you will have more power and another sub. but get 1 of the same subs you have now. size and model.
