need help on AUDIO system

hey guys,

my friend told me that i should first get amp and then a sub....

correct me if i'm wrong... to my knowledge subwoofers are just for bass, right?

and amp is to enhance your stock speakers right ?

If i just want to make the sound in my car better, should i just get a decent amp ? or do i need a subwoofer also?

i have 2000 accord... any suggestion is welcome. please let me know what you have in your car and feedback

amp is used for adding more power to your drivers; not just for stock speakers. depending on your budget, i say upgrade from this order (at least thats what i think you should do):

1. new front speakers (component preferably)
2. new headunit
3. small amp for front speakers (if you're getting components)
4. subwoofer and amp at the same time.
5. rear speakers if you want (doesn't really help THAT much)

i think you are kinda confusing yourself. Maybe this will help you out.

Subwoofer
Amp for subwoofer
component set
amp for component set.
new head unit
(not in order)

There ya go. Thats what you need for a complete audio upgrade in your car.

If you're on a budget, I'd go amp and sub first, and power the stock speakers with the headunit.

If u r thinking of spending a little bit on ur car's sound system i suggest that u change ur front and back speakers + small amp for back speakers. 2 12 or 15inch subs and a powerfull amp to blow them off (u may need some tweeters for high pass frequencies but it depends on how powerfull ur speakres are ).
PS: if u install ur subs in a box or a bazooka bass tube system it will give double efficiency.

for good SQL u will want a nice sc player with 3 sets of pre outs and around 4+volts per pre out...... for speakers get a set of components, put the bigest onces u can in or afford in, run them off a small clean amp, for ideal sound imaging u only want fron speakers...... not subs get a pair of 12" subs, and and nice class d amp...........

i am runnig 2 12" BA inhumans ans a PH-D2 and am hitting 153 and they will keep up to any other sub in the sq department. i have a shitty kewood deck, and no speakers right now(cant afford them) i comepete in street 1-2 with that set up and do very well........

i've always wanted the inhuman; the 10" in particular. how much did you get your 12" for?
