Power Siren/Backup Siren

I have one of these along with my vipor one. This is the one that when you disconnect the battery, it has it's own internal battery. I unhooked my battery and mine sound like shit, it was low and I was embarrassed at how low and shitty it was. I am thinking I have a bad ground, cause when the weather gets wet out or rainy, the original alarm is the only one I hear when I arm it. The ground is in the firewall I beleive.

But I don't think this is hooked up right. I have a funny feeling that the shop that did it, did a shitty job.

So now I have a couple of questions,

1) How are you suppose to hook these up, So when the battery is disconected it is suppose to go off.

2) Where is a good ground under the hood near the firewall, or is the firewall a good ground and my rusty screw should be replaced?

3)The internal battery, can you replace it, maybe it's old?

This summer, I plan on doing my whole car stereo and alarms over (sirens).

I feel like this is draining my battery becasue my car wouldn't start the other day and only one siren chirped when I disarmed it.

I always get screwed in life!!!!!

Peace

IIRC, there are 4 wires

black - ground
red - 12v fused constant power
green - negative input
violet - positive input

Viper siren outputs are positive, so the brown alarm siren wire goes to the violet BUB siren wire. (the green is not used)

the key has 3 positions, test, on and off. make sure it's in the ON position.

you can run the ground direct to the battery, but a shorter ground wire will provide less resistance and boost the volume of the siren somewhat. Find a spot close to the siren. Make sure to scrape away the paint for a bare metal contact, use a star or locking washer and silicone to seal it.

As a dealer, if the BUB siren was problematic, we'd just send it back, never took the time to try to replace or repair it.
