Questions about immobilizer and security on 2001 Accord

I have a 2001 Honda Accord sedan. On the Window there is a little Ignition Imobilizer sticker. For others with the same car, do you know if this is actually an effective system for preventing theft, or can it be easily bypassed? I also have an aftermarket alarm but it doesn't make me feel to safe. Thanks.

WIl

yes and yes, if installed properly. also, full coverage insurance just in case they bring a rollback. if you still feel nervous, try anti-anxiety medication.

you're welcome,
james.

if you call towing your car bypassing it? anyways DEI makes a gps system. i think it's around $799 installed. plus usually $100/year service charge. if you already have a dei alarm (clifford, viper, python, etc.) it'll plug right in and you can unlock doors, etc. over the phone. plus it has it's own backup battery. might be overkill for an accord, but if its customized, some stuff is difficult to replace.

thanks for the response james777. I had a pos hornet alarm that was installed badly from the beginning. I decided to replace the whole alarm system with a CrimeStopper with built in Remote Starter and i added a hidden cutoff switch. That plus the Club (i know) and a wheel club plus wheel locks should keep me safe. If they really want the car though i guess they'll have to work for it a bit.
