i've got a passport 8500 x50. it and the valentine 1 are just about the best available in a reasonable price range.
also, this doesn't belong in s2000.

agreed. V1's and passports are the best, but my $100 cobra is just fine for me.
and even tho radar detectors aren't illegal in jersey, its gotten me outta at least 7 tickets that woulda been alot worse if the cop was a dick :w00t

the ability to turn off pop mode is a big advantage in its favor

Exactly. Also the x50 has a longer range.

I got a SOLOS2 escort and won't trade it for nutn'. even though the 8500x50 does have the POP technology and mine dosen't.....it's cool. it's still saved me many a times. plus escorts don't give as many fasle alarms as other radars. go to radartest.com if you have any doubts. sorry i don't know how to link it......still a "noob" w/ this computer shit.

Another one for V1 but I'll have to add "with remote head". I ran a V1 and 8500 x50 together for about a month. They were about even for sensitivity, sometime the 8500 would pick up first, sometimes the V1 would note it first, but as was said arrow > all. Its worth the extra $100 to know which way that sucker is.

Quick 07 335i (Vishnu Stg1)
Quicker 07 Ducati 1098S (Two Brothers dual slip ons)
Even quicker 05 WRX (Mean Tranny + Big Motor + Big Turbo + Meth = YIKES)
WTH??? The older I get the slower my cars are getting
Some Previous Rides: 91 3G Lude Built H23 with T3/T04e, 88 Guards Red 930 Turbo Slantnose(AKA the ticket magnet), 53 Bel Air 502 with an 8-71 and juice. Quite a few others, but not enough room. Oh an 01 V6 Accord too, probably how I got that funny title.
