1. USB support
2. aux input so i can use my zune
3. high powered (4v+ ) rcapreouts, need front, rear and sub at least
4. WMA, mp3, etc playback, even better if i can burn a data cd like with the premier and put 100+ songs on one CD
5. motorized panel preferred but not neccesary
6. decent EQ and sound settings
7. nice display, i dont want something that looks kile a 1991 cassete deck

i was looking at the JVC kamelion but im not sure i want to spiend 500 bux on a deck when i have a GSR motor sitting in my garage waiting for parts so i can put it in my car any suggestions??

Eclipse or Alpine, that's what I'd say...both make quality products. Kenwood will have good EQs and possibly a motorized faceplate. I spend hours researching on Crutchfield each time I buy something new for my car...that's what I would suggest you do

thank you for your suggestions, especially the eclipse deck!! as far as reasearching, ive done so many builds in the past that i have been closed minded as to other products, i think i need to open my mind to somethign besides pioneer/infinity/boston accoustics being how im sure technology is much better now for even the lowest level of equipment

Yep yep, I am in love with Alpine HUs personally. They are very functional and easy to use, and have become much better looking over the past couple of years. Especially the IPod ready decks that will show the album art on the screen, those are pretty clean lookin

If my IPod hadn't been stolen I'd be lookin at one of those right now too; as it is I'm happy with the Alpine deck I've been running for damn near 5 years now.

PS - You are wise to branch out, I tend to do that with with JL/Rockford Fosgate but after going to several different car audio stores I've run across several brands I never would've thought of buying before that actually sound pretty good.

i have since installed a JBL 640 watt amp, all infinity speakers except for the door tweeters, waiting on $$, i am unimpressed with the JBL amp, i have a 4ga distribution block, and a 4 ga ground block running 10 ga to the amp on both ends....it sounds nice but i set up the deck and amp settings by the book, and it is just not as loud or as clear as my 10+ year old alpine amp was, which was rated 30 RMS while this JBL is rated 60 RMS with 640 peak.....just to get it loud enough for ME to think its loud i have to crank it 3/4 way up at least but it is still clear...maybe its the civics accoustics?? i am just confused, because when i was 17 i had a chevrolet s-10 xtended cab running 2x RF 12" subs, 1 alpine 200 watt amp for the subs, and 10 speakers running speaker level input and that thing could be heard FAR away... maybe ive just lost my hearing and what is loud to me is ear piercing to everyone else????
