sound stage for woofers?? best locations?? newbie

Okay, I've delt with premade boxes and enclosures, but I am creating a new custom box, and need to know about sound staging and locations for the woofers. I have two 10" rockford HE2 I want to have on opposite sides of each other in my trunk to save space I am making custom fiberglass boxes.

Where should they be pointing??? Towards the front of the vehicle? Someone said I can't have them facing each other because they'll cancel themselves out, so before I finish the boxes I need to find out which direction they need to face so I can make the boxes accordingly.

Here are some pictures of where I am going to be placing the subs... hopefully someone can help. Thanks!!!

You wont need to worry much about sound staging with subwoofers. bass freq. will surround you. What will affect staging and imaging is midbass freq. If you lowpass your subs too high, your staging might be dragged to the back. What I do is let the mids play down as low as I can and lowpass the sub to about 50-60hz.

You wont get total cancellation, but it may certainly work. You'll be fine.
