sub/amp combofor 600 or under?

I am just wondering what yall think is the best sub/amp combo for the best beat under 600? I am asking for a friend. All he needs is the subs and amp for them. I am not a big JL fan, but i was thinkin about a couple of JL 12'' W3's or somethin, but havent found a good amp yet for him. What yall think?

BTW, i think he is about to sell his current subs and amp to get somethin a lil better. It is 2 12" Tsunami Generation X subs in a tuned bandpass box, and a Ultra Linear 400 Watt amp. He want to try to get around 450-500 for the subs and amp. Its not a bad set up for someone who wants a lil beat, but he wants a lil bit more, and he is startin it off with 600 and then will upgrade as he gets more money, but if anyone is interested, email me or email him at cbonn84@msn.com and tell him Danny Told you he had some stuff for sale.

idmax and 1200.1 might cost more than 600.

I would suggest 2 adire audio 12" shivas from www.ampman.com for 250 shipped, and perhaps a jl 500/1 around 300-350, or a jbl 600.1 for about 230. These subs play very loud with little power and will sound as good as w3's, if not better. I would suggest a 1.3cf sealed for each woofer if he likes sealed, for ported, I can give rec's if he needs them.
