Viper Alarm drivin me nuts?!?!

I have the 791XV with the i478 remote. Ran out of batteries today.. i swapped em out and it loads up like normal with the music and all BUT... when i press lock or unlock or any button for that matter it beeps like its out of range.

Is there something i have to do special? Anyone have this happen to them before?

Thanks
-Steve

Did you read the manual?
On my Compustar every time I change the battery I have to reprogram the remote.
The way its done is by turning the ignition key from ACC to ON 5 times within 10 seconds then pressing button #1 on the remote.
If you don't have the manual search for it on google, I'm sure someone has it as a pdf file or go on viper's website.

i had the same problem with my remotes, turns out solder points on the connectors that connect the antenna circuit board to the main circuit board broke. i just resoldered the the connector back on the circuit board and it came back to life. its gonna be a little tricky soldering such small components though.

you'll have to reprogram your remote to the alarm. Take it back to your installer, he'll know what to do
