Wiring for sound system?

Hello all! I just recently joined the forums, and this is my first post. This seemed like a pretty cool site when I discovered it, and I figured you could help me figure out something.

I own a 1993 Honda Civic LX Sedan (5-speed, yeah!) that was purchased brand new without a sound system. As in, there's no antenna on top, no speakers in the back under the rear windshield, no speakers behind the slots in the front doors, and a generic gray plate where the control unit should be.

Currently, for music I just haul around a small portable logitech speaker system for my iPod, but recently I've been thinking about installing two speakers in the front doors and a new control unit.

First off, my main question is this: does anyone know if the connection wires for power/sound for the control unit and front door speakers are in my sound-system-less Civic?

Secondly, how hard would it be to install the new front door speakers and control unit, and if I had to, new wiring? I imagine if the wiring is there, then it should be a simple matter of plug and play, right? But if the wiring isn't there, then I have a feeling some tearing apart of my Civic's interior would be in order (and I don't have the time/money/expertise/tools to do so).

Here is a picture of my center dash if you were curious as to what it looks like:

K check this out, wiring it isn't as hard as it seems, for the front speakers you just feed the wire through the hole and through the rubber thing that goes from your door to where your feet go, then you lead it to where the stereo should be. you need power and ground from the battery, civic's already have the hole in the firewall so you can feed those through shouldn't be hard. then you need the ignition cable that you can just lead from something else like the power thing for the cigarette lighter thing. i think that covers most. rear speakers you just run through under the back seat then throught the side panels and you have to take off that plastic thing under the doors and run it through under there.

Thanks to both of you for the installation tips, but my main question has yet to be answered: do you, or anyone else, know if the factory wiring is in my Civic since it was purchased brand new without the stock sound system?

Unless you bought a car that somehow came from the factory with no stereo, which seems illogical, the stock wiring is likely still there. I doubt the person who took out the speakers and head unit they had in there took the time and effort to remove all the wiring as well. They would have no use for it. Just look for the white connection in the empty spot where the HU should go; and there should be similar connections in the rear deck and door panels...

Okay, let me clarify some things:

a.) My mom was the one who purchased my Civic brand new from the dealer, back in 1993; as in, she has been the only owner of the car prior to me. So the Civic literally came without the stock sound system from Japan. Nothing was removed, nor added.

b.) I would remove the gray panel where the stock tape deck would have been (had the Civic come with the stock sound system), but I'm unsure as to how to remove it to look behind it without causing irreparable damage to the car (as in screwdriver nicks all over the dash around the plate).

you have to take off that panel thing. it's just 4 screws then pull it out then you can see in the back and check for the wires.

What about installing an antenna? I know I can get one off of crutchfield, but I'm sure that's a much more arduous process of taking the interior apart
