will a camber kit fix this? or an alignment? what can i do to prevent un even tire wear?

what are some brands for camber kits...

any help would be appreicated

Yup, that would be solved with a camber kit. Most of the time you need one when you lower your car.

Not enough information to determine the cause of your problems.

If your car is slammed, then yes, you would need a camber kit to correct it. however if it is just lowered 0-2", then your problem is most likely from having a bad toe angle, and a camber kit would be a waste of money.

Did you have your car aligned after you lowered it, and if so, what were the specs?

That will tell you what is wrong. You should always do an alignment after you lower your car.

ok so i got my car aligned 2day and here are the results. (numbers in degrees)

front left
camber before = -1.2
camber actual = -1.2
specified range = -1.0 to 1.0

caster before = 3.5
caster actual = 3.5
specified range = 1.7 to 3.7

toe before = -0.17
toe actual = 0.08
specified range = -0.08 to 0.08

front right
camber before = -1.4
camber actual = -1.5
specified range = -1.0 to 1.0

caster before = 3.4
caster actual = 3.4
specified range = 1.7 to 3.7

toe before = -0.06
toe actual = 0.05
specified range = -0.08 to 0.08

rear left
camber before = -1.9
camber actual = -1.9
specified range = -1.8 to 0.3

toe before = 0.38
toe actual = 0.11
specified range = -0.00 to 0.16

rear left
camber before = -1.7
camber actual = -1.7
specified range = -1.8 to 0.3

toe before = 0.15
toe actual = 0.14
specified range = -0.00 to 0.16

more info
front total toe specfied range = -.016 to 0.16
before -0.23
actual 0.13

rear total toe specified range = 0.00 to 0.31
before .53
actual.25

the guy who did my alignment said even though my numbers fall in the "specified range' i should get camber kits to prevent future un even tire wear, but im not sure if he is trying to make money or be helpful. what do u guys think? he also said they get good prices on SPC camber kits. anyone hear of SPC cambkits?

thanks agian guys

you should definetly listen to him and get a camber kit. i have never heard of SPC camber kits but that does not mean that they arent good. i actually have a no name camber kit from ebay on my 92 accord and it works perfectly fine.

Do not waste your money on a camber kit!!!

Camber does not eat tires unless your car is slammed and you have excessive negative camber such as -3, -4 deg.

As you can see from the readouts, you had excessive toe, outside of the specified range. This is what really eats the inside edge of the tire.

On a side note, my cars front camber is set to -1.8. I'm using my camber kit to get it set to -2 at my next alignment. I run nearly 0 toe on the front.
