check your axles, and when you say sloppy steering could you elaborate?

when I say sloppy, I am referring to the delayed steering response when entering a turn, freeplay in the wheel. The front end just feels loose in general.

However as I said in the original post, I have a number of problems contributing to this. New tires and an alignment will help quite a bit.

true, and i notcied you mentioned the PS system already, i would work on that as well, because non-response can easily be caused by a power steering system
