Honda Spring Rates for Stock and Aftermarket Springs
Thought that I would share this. I found this info on club si. It was posted by Hondaman.
Would probably be nice if this were made into a sticky.

I don't have any hard facts. However my girl's 95ex does feel a bit stiffer than my 98ex did when it was stock.

Don't know for sure, however i would assume that they are progressive since the other neuspeed springs are progressive.

I can get a good deal for my friend's used tokiko illumina / ground control setup. The problem is that his car is a 1999 Civic SI and mines is a 1999 Civic EX. I know the shocks/coilovers will fit my car, but will it ride like crap since the spring rates are different and meant for a b16 motor?

I doubt it. Most companies make the same spring for all 96-00 civs. Also, there shouldn't be a significant weight difference between your 99ex and a 99-00si.

who has had both ground control and skunk 2 on the same car? how much bumpier were the skunk 2's? i had the old skunks and ground controls and i didn't notice much difference between them.
also what shocks did you have them paired with? i know this had been asked so many times

ok, sorry to bring this from the dead but from what I can tell it seems like in order of most comfy ride quality compared to stock these would be my best choices:
stock:
96-00 EX - 165F/80R (P/P)
choices:
Neuspeed SofSports - 260F/150R (P/P)
Neuspeed Sport - 280F/180R (P/P)
Eibach ProKit - 290F/190R (P/P)
uber stiff macho ass rattler:
Tein HT - 1119F/448R (L/L)
am I correct in this assumption? how the hell can stock rear springs be 80 and aftermarket ones start at 150?

Well, if you go solely based on spring rates, then you are correct. However the quality of the spring and design play a part as well. My car rides smoother with h&r sports than it did with eibach pro-kits.
Comparison H&R Sports vs. Eibach Pro-Kits vs. Stock (56k no-no...)

as long as I can go up SOME over my 2"-2.25" drop that I have right now I'll be happy. Also, couldn't you compensate by getting a thicker spring pad? or taking it out all together? can't remember which would compress the spring or not.
I didn't know koni yellows were height adjustable? time to look into that I guess.
just how bumpy is the ride on those springs? right now I go 15 mph downtown atlanta on the old shitty streets by the park and it's like I'm in a mine cart...

The konis have several rings and a clip. You put the clip in one of the rings and the spring perch rests on the clip, so you can adjust the height up or down about an inch total (5 spring positions). So i raised the front up one setting. I'm probably 1.75-2" lower in the front. I don't have any daily driving clearance issues.
The ride is very smooth on decent roads, but if you hit a harsh bump, you know it It is fine for daily driving. My woman doesn't complain. On decent roads it was on par with her stock 95ex. However the difference becomes noticeable on rough roads. I probably wouldn't want to go much stiffer on a daily driver.

sounds good to me. I actually bought a set of the H&R sports earlier today and they're in transit as I write this...bought time I did something. I just hope these will help out. If not then I'm going to get the OE sports...
now I need to figure out what shocks I want, probably end up getting agx's

I'm throwing some Susp. Techniques on my car today. How do you find out the spring rate?

You are going to have to call and ask. THe manufacturer *may* or may not tell you the rates. Some just won't give that info out. Only way to truly find out is with a spring dyno.
