Thanks for the info you are providing me today. In the recent posts and prior to the reconstruction of this site, I have seen pictures of the rear tower brace very very similar to the OEM ITR front strut tower brace (if I said it correctly?) with a small Type R sticker on it too on one side . People in this board were also claiming that it is an OEM part. I am not sure if it is true that the rear tower brace was only made available in Japan and Canada back in the day when ITRs first hit the United States and you have to special order them from Japan.
I only say what I have read and seen in this site.
Thanks in advance...
By far, you are the greatest!
But are these really JDM made upgrades?
Thanks in advance!
it's wkdm
who knows. on ebay, you must take everything with a grain of salt.
there was no mention of them being u.s. or japan made in the initial post, so your guess is as good as mine.
as far as trying to get an upgrade on a strut tower brace and/or lower tie bar, you can't just use any old part. you must use one designed for your car. as i have no idea what type of car you have, i'm not sure how much we can help you in this thread.
SERPENT you are probably the most polite person on this board. Everything is so formal.
anyways:
bars help stiffen the chassis. the end. there are some that work better than others but as always it all depends on how much money you are willing to spend. then eventually cost to gain is unequal and it becomes redundant. but as far as affordability goes (affordability used loosely)
i lov emy neuspeed upper strut bar... (even though it doesnt bolt onto the strut section) very stiff and for 100 affordable
lower tie bars vary. some liek solid some like threaded. i personally use solid bars because there isnt much you can do to preload a subframe. i have a cusco.
should you get a strut bar or tie bar that has threads, remember to mount them loose then rotate the bar so the threads push the mounts outward. you dont need to wrench on the bar but give it a good guestimated 10 lb of torque. this applies pressure to the frame and subframe and makes it slightly stiffer.
