b18c1 no question. i dont know about shops in michagen but since you are in a state where cars a big I would imagine that there would be a handfull of shops that may not specialize in hondas but still have the knowledge needed to swap the motor. I would call around and talk to the shops and get a feel for who seems to know what there doin.

The external dimensions of both of the engines are very close. The b18 is going to fit just as easy and you are going to benefit from stronger internals and more hp and torque right off the bat. b18c gets my vote too.

Ok now

I called Payn today and they said the GSR (b18) swap would run me around 6ooo, that is if they can find a GSR engine because thier in pretty high demand since that is what everyone wants to do....but the JDM b16 swap would run me about 4ooo....he also said something about using a LS block / B16 HEAD and would run 1200-1500 cheaper then the GSR so about 45oo.....now to me the b16 or the LS/b16 sounds more finiacially better...but what do you all suggest what ever i go with i plan on getting I/H.E also maybe not at first but after ward....well thanks for any input on this subject....ps i was also thinking about runnin a turbo but after i looked up the prices that wouldnt be a addition for quit awhile.......well thanks again for any input......

sounds like a rip off to me.

http://www.hondamotorsonline.com/sho...USDM%20Engines

go there, if that link doesnt work go here http://www.hondamotorsonline.com

they have b18c1 for 3300. If they charge 2700 for labor on the swap then I would definatly not go there

wow guy thats real expensive....i'd do the work myself..just read up on it...there are a bunch of viable swaps for EK/EG civics nowa days..i remember when dual carbs were state of the art....along with getting NOS to work on small crx engines..gosh...cable trannies...*stops remembering the old days* but regardless...here's my .02$
Swaps::
LS/VTEC : LS bottom end B16 head (make sure you get it tuned right)
CRVTEC : b20b bottom end w/ a b18c5 head
My ulitmate motor : b16b head b18 bottom end w/ a knife edged spun and balanced b20 crank with the b20 journals and dual spoon 70 mm throttles bored to 72 mm hell throw a turbo on it while you're at it
