EFtypeR is an unknown quantity at this point
The obd1 B20 would work well, you will need to mod the block, and you won't have the squirters, but with the right pistons, you could have the equivalent of a stroker 1.7 to 2.0 with a compression of 12.5-1. Not too shabby, with the right clutch and axels(and of course the right chassis-EF maybe) you could do 12's.
