For a few hundred bucks it may be worth it to grab it. Personally, I wouldn't but, thats just me, I'd save the few hundred bucks towards a better swap. People say it's a good candidate for turbo because it's lower compression ratio as opposed to a VTEC motor...those people are funny.
Think of it like this, you know on the movie "Liar Liar" when Jim Carrey's son tells him that his teacher said that beauty on the outside doesn't matter it's what's on the inside that counts, and Jim Carrey says "that's just something ugly peopl say"...the whole "LS is good for turbo" saying is basically "something LS drivers say."
The LS head flows for crap, you can get decent results out of them but, not great when compared side by side with a VTEC motor.
If you want to rebuild it make it an LSVTEC and turbo it, or run it all motor...just add VTEC and be happy. Keep in mind you'll have some wiring issues to work out with it being an OBD-0 motor but nothing major. It's up to you.
