B18c1 Swap - Wiring Butterly Valve/Dual-Stage Intake??

My Car: '96 Civic 1.4i (Irish/European model)
New Engine: '95 OBD1 JDM B18c1, P72 ECU
Wiring: P73 Loom(European Integra Type R).

I have a wiring question which is not specific to my application but relates to B18c swaps in general.

Does the Butterfly Valve/Dual Stage intake require a signal from the ECU or is it entirely vacuum based/controlled? Or both?

Ive just read through the guide on C-Speed Racing and neither it nor anywhere else ive read about swaps ever mention having to add a wire for the Butterfly/Dual Stage intake.
I mention the C-Speed Racing on in particular as it shows them using the original wiring, just adding the wires for IAB/Knock Sensor.

Clearly the original car in that - D16z6 engine(I think?), would not have had wiring for the butterfly valve....

Hang on a second, I think Ive just been an idiot, is IAB = Intake Air Butterfly ??
If so, then next question is - where on the intake do you take this wire from?

The IAB is both vacuum controlled and ecu controlled. The ecu sends a signal to the IAB solenoid which is mounted on the little black box underneath the I/M. IN turn, the solenoid either opens or shuts....I can't remeber exactly...and that in turns opens and closes the secondary butterflies.

If you are using the Type R ECU, you could remove the IAB's and not have to worry about wiring it up. I have a GSR intake manifold with the IAB's taken out if you want it... :clap
