b20 non-vtec and GSR tranny

Right now I'm just looking to put a non-vtec b20 into a civic hatch so I have a grocery getter while I work on another project. To make it run I'll obviously need a tranny ... and since I planned on using this tranny when i do get to modding this car I figured it would be economical to go ahead and get it now. Can they be matched up to eachother or do I need to wait til it's vtec? Also, is the b20 DOHC ... maybe I'll skip the vtec altogether.

the GSR tranny will bolt up to the B20 block. regardless or VTEC, it doesn't matter if you have it or not. it will still run. and yes, the B20 is a DOHC. the b20 is basically a B18 found in the RS/LS integra but honda bored it out to 2.0
