I want to get a b20vtec swap but what problems with the engine have you encountered? I heard that the b16a head leaking oil?.....anything else i should be looking for
oil leaking heads were cause by improper oil galleys, but that has been solved...check out this link on SHO it'll tell you basically everything you need to know:
Mods: B20T-VTEC pistons,rods,intake,bigTB,str fuel rail,550cc inj,hondata 4b,type-r intake cam,huge front mount,no cat,no exhaust,street legal not smog legal
Still getting parts for the swap(tranny, dist ,clutch, money, and turbo to complete) do have B16a3 head STR intake 99 ecu and some goodys and B20 block. going into my brothers 99 hatch. mine is done :gokuf3:

There is nothing wrong with B20vtec set up if you do it rite. I have no problem so far ,no oil leak what so ever .It;s far more powerful then a standard gsr and thicker sleeve.Cost less too.
If you do it rite and bolt on a turbo kit with the rite stuff you will make 300whp easy stock..

Yup the B20/VTEC is actually very reliable. My friend has ran this setup for 2(TWO)(DOS) years with a 10k redline. He revs it freely when he wants to and nothing has given out yet. Yup 2 yrs and counting. It makes massive power to the ground and does a nice job making some decent torque. His hp figures are 242/183 torque and thats N/A. pretty impressive if you ask me.

What did you do with the PCV valve on that engine; The B20 has the valve in the valve cover and the VTEC engines have it in the Oil separator. I have heard of people having solutions for this, but have not actually heard what exactly the solutions are.

You will have to do a PCV mod to compensate. You can either tap a PCV nipple behind the b20's block or get the hex nut washer from a Prelude and just screw that in. The prelude's washer already has the nipple so all you need to do is get some hoses and connect them to an Oil Catch Can.
p.s.
PM randyman (he's on the Integra forum) if you want to get the part numbers on that washer. He has a B20/VTEC setup too.

So, does the Prelude have the hex nut in the back of the block or are you talking about in the valve cover? I would still have to tap the back of the CRV block to put in the Prelude fitting if it does go in the back, correct? So, then I insert the PCV valve into the nipple and then where does the catch can hook up?

I don't use a pcv valve I just block it off cause I don't need it... I use a catch can off the breather tube on the valve cover only..The pcv valve only works at idle at full throtttle it closes so no need for it....

So, did you put a PCV valve in the Breather opening in the VTEC valve cover?
