didnt bother searching did you, its the h22. there you go.... and search next time please. and dont even think about asking where to get one, you should be able to search and find that on your own, and dont ask how to put it in, you should find that on your own, and dont ask how hard it is, you can find that on your own. all you have to do is search, if you dont search, you will be eaten alive here

dude, don't sweat it - there's no definite answer to your question. some people will tell you the h22 the best "bang", others will tell you a b16. shit, someone might tell you to drop a k20 in there. point is, you have to weigh your options and look at how much drivability you want to sacrifice. ask for some opinions from people who have those swaps in their car. there is a lot of really cool people on SHO with a lot of really useful information. good luck.

h22 is one of the most time consuming and expensive swaps you could do other than a k20... u have to cut and fabricate and reweld shit... no way is that the best bang for your buck. Plus you have to mix and match parts from various cars. B16 and b18 bolts right in that car dude... if ur doing all motor the b18 is the way to go... but a boosted set up a b16 will get the job done almost just as well and u can get those for like 1500 bux with everything.

Lookin to swap into the same vehicle, we import JDM motors so cost isn't the biggest issue. Anybody try a B20Z in there? Not sure if it will even fit though. Curious to know how that motor would respond to boost as well, anybody out there have info?

h22 is the WORST thing you can do in a civic. do a b-series swap. you'll save money, you'll save weight, and you'll save lives (no joke).

B20z will fit the exact same as a b18 or b16. Is there a dollar amount to keep in mind on your project as well as what hp. or torque are you wishing to achieve. Will this be a drag, or show, or autox, or a drift car?

my car wil be daily driven but will also be used to carve corners and the occasional trip to the drag strip. i plan on modding the hell out of what ever motor i do get(P&P head, cams, intke manifold, TB, fuel system and ignition upgrades.....for exampl, i would like to build a 220 WHP n/a b16a2

you'll want to get the b18c then. sure a b20 has the torque, but for your application, you will want to live in the upper rpms. as a corner carver, the b18 will save you weight and give you a better power curve out of the box as you enter and then exit a corner. you can then fine tune it later for an even better tune.

but before you do all that......upgrade the driver first....then suspension.

Sounds like youve allready picked the b16a2. Allthough I think you would be much happier with one of the b18c's You'll find it a-lot easier to get to that power level on one of those motors. Or you could just get a b18c block and mate a b16 head... anyways Id say you're buest easiest bet for right now would be a b18c. I dont see how a b18 is going to save you weight though?

I say the best bang for the buck would be a D15B or a SOHC ZC. They're cheap and can keep up with a stock B16A. But of course the B18C is the ultimate choice for the EG hatch

I am a HUGE fan of the ZC! I'm very impressed with mine (which is in a 5th gen hatch.) And, IMO, the b16 is overrated.

Welcome to SHO! And, don't be afraid to ask questions. But, try a search first, as that will be everyones reply!

you're going to need a lot more than what you listed to reach that power goal with a b16 or b18c.
