Smile Can i get some advice "please help"

Well hey guts whats up. Well im having a hard time making up my mind. I have a 1997 civic ex, and i'm getting ready to do an engine swap. Well the only thing is, i can't make up my damn mind on what engine i want. I was orignally going to put in a B18C1 gsr motor and tranny, but now it seems that i might want to drop an H22A4 in there with the tranny. Has anyone dropped a H22A4 in the civic? does it fit? will alot of shit break? do i have to rebuild the pistons, rods and cranks? I know it will be fast as hell because i was also thinking of dropping a blower on that engine, and running a 40 shot of nos on it too. Hopefully that would bring me into the 10's on slicks, and a very sick car on the street. My car is lowered on eibachs 2.5 inches is that too low for the H22A4? Please people give me some advice so i can get moving in this project. Thank you all. Joe Miami FL.

the h22 will put you in low 13s stock.
the drop you got will help blow axles faster, and probably put your header into the ground a lot, as well as possibly the oil pan hitting the ground frequently too. the b18c will be about 100lbs heavier than stock, and the h22 about 175lbs heavier.

as far as what happens after the h22...thats up to you. it is a VERY tight fit in the engine bay, but if you lose a/c and power steering a turbo is workable...possibly even with your a/c too, but i do not thin you can do the power steering on the ek civic with an h22...

h22a4 has 25-30 more hp than a b18c1
it has 30 more ft/lbs of torque.
it has .4 liters more displacement.
and civic weighs less than a gsr.
if you check around on various boards you will see similar results. high 12s on slicks, a 50-75 shot of nitrous in an h22 civic can get you into 12s.
http://www.g-speed.com/pbh/fastest/n...d-hybrids.html has some info on times in hybrids as well...the H series engines are all 13.5 and faster.

1997 honda civic 5spd weights:

cx hatch--2304
dx hatch--2319
dx coupe--2337
ex coupe--2496
hx coupe--2399

i am pretty sure that 190lbs is NOT enough to make half second difference in the 1/4 mile.

in the 5th gen civics there is more of a diff
i think the 5th gen ex sedan is like 2500 and the dx hatch is less than 2200....
but 6th gen got heavier.

one thing about the 13 sec timeslips, you ahve to know how to drive it...cause wheelspin is a serious problem.

theres a guy down here running a h22/h23 setup all-motor running 11.9's he's blowing everyones doors at the street races. not to sure what he has, but his car looks like a bonestock EX on blackies. You would never suspect a 11 sec car whenu see it.
