Costs between b18c1 and h22 swap

i got a civic Si 92 and i wanna know the costs of a b18c1 swap and a h22

h22 is a cheap motor but seems to be costly with the motor mounts and axles

b18c1 is cheap but doesnt have the wanted power that a h22 would provide

i would also like to keep power steering and ac so include that in costs
much appreciated

Ive been looking and lookiing for a b18c1 but they seem to be up in the 3,000 range any help people?

I got 6 thousand left
but i wanna pull as much performance outta that money as much as i can.

Thanks

you can Keep both with the right mounts. Use the hasport motor mounts and an hcp mount for the a/c. I've seen instructions on the net that will let you keep your powerstearing. You just need to fabricate your own parts. I talked to hasport and they outlined the powerstearing and told me about the hcp a/c mount.

I'm in the process of saving money for a h22 swap into my 99 ek. I have a friend that has a b18c1 in a 94 hatch and runs 14.4 compare that to the 13.9 that I have seen h22 civics run.

Goood luck and go with the h22. If you want the a/c and powerstearing you can keep it with a little more money and work but Its just more money, less hp, and more weight if you ask me

In all honesty, H22A is a good bang for the buck. If you have access to a knowledgeable mechanic, and "cheap" labor I would really suggest it.

Otherwise the B18C is still a very good engine, with alot of potential, like turbo!

JDM H22 Complete Changeover: $2200
HCP Mounts: $300
Integra & Accord Axels: $100
Custom Fabrication parts (ie. fuel line & p/s line): $50
Labor: $1000-1500

H22 Basic Total: $3650-4150

JDM B18C1 Complete Changeover: $3300
Custom Fabrication parts: $50
Labor: $800-1000

B18C1 Basic Total: $4150-4350

As you can see, it's not as costly as you would think. And if you are smart, you are going to want to do a major service on either motors before you put them in. Of course there are other mods like clutch, flywheel, intake, etc., that make sense to do also, but obviously not everyone can afford that right away. The site below gives you an idea of what it takes to install the H22 into the EG and EF, it's a very good resource. Also, if you need any more help just ask, my H22 Teg runs like a champ.
