Hi guys, I have a question and it's loaded.

I have a 2000 HX that WAS auto and well the engine threw a rod, not to mention the fact that the wiring harness is junk on the engine. I decided to just do a auto to manual swap and I'm about done I think. It's a OBD1 B16 with a P30.

I installed the engine and tranny and all necessary hardware. Pedals, linkage, shifter and jumped the neutral safety switch. Now the big question. Can I use the P30 or do I need a chipped P28 to make this work best?

Course I'll do the OBD2(?)-OBD1 conversion harness from rywire, boomslang or phearable whatever. But what harness should I use?

I tried using a 99 Si harness and ECU but of course it doesn't want to work. I even got the conversion harness for OBD2b>OBD1 and it still doesn't start.

All help is appreciated.

use the harness that came with the new engine.

if no harness was provided. then research the engine find out what years.
or what it came out of.

and do it that way..

What Weewoo said will probably be your best option, knowing what year and model (well Si ) the engine came out of will provide alot of answer to your questions. By the way I though you were saying that the D16Y8 > (owns) the B16 hehe.
