it just means your car was made in japan, but it's still made to USDM specs. however some parts like starter and distributor cap can be different brands than what made in USA cars would have.

no JHM means the car was 100% assembeled in japan, it does not mean the car is JDM, JDM would be a RHD car with the other differences that their cars have besides about 95% if not more of new hondas are assembeled in the US
just to add my parents old 91 SE accord was made in japan and our 92 EX accord was made in USA. for some reason the 91 SE seemed more more powerful even with the same motor and fit and finish were nicer too.

e-mail my dad and ask him what he thinks. my parents have owned 9 Hondas since 1978 and will be buying our 10th year when my mom gets her 7th gen V6 coupe. never a good idea to buy the new models first model year. it's a true story, i'm not bsing. fit and finish seems to go down in every generation.

yeah i know, i'm guessing internal specs on the motor were better. it may not even be a made in japan v. usa thing. when i read SCC they have cars stock that will dyno 5hp or so more than another stock car. I think this happened on a celica GTS, they had a stock one making the same power as one with I/E.
the 91 SE just felt peppier and my dad and I always liked that car more than the 92 EX except for those damn automatic seatbelts.

we refer to them as "gifted motors", they tend to be real strong etc.....its one of those mysteries that man may never determine the answer for
