tech wrench ITR swap

Hey, I'm doing an ITR swap into my 99 civic lx and I was wondering where I might be able to get instructions on how to do it. I don't need to have any no starts or lights. I've read posts on the o2 sensors and all this other stuff and not sure what to do. I have good mechanical experience. I'm in Ohio right now for school but travel back home to NY if that makes any difference about emissions. Thanks for your help.

One more thing...since you have an LS...see if you can source out either a 96-98 EX or 99-00 wire harness or even better, a 99-00 Si wire harness. Trust me, having either one of those, will make life a lot easier. New they cost up to 500 bucks. You should be able to find one off of E-bay or the net for around 100-200 bucks. It'll be the best couple of hundred bucks you could spend.

If you go with the 99-00 harnesses you'll need a harness adapter because the JDM ITR Ecu is a OBD2a setup. If you go with the 96-98 EX harness, it is plug and play on the ECU side.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering why i should get a harness? The b18c5 is the engine i am looking to get and found a place that i can get a complete swap, (tranny, harness, sensors, ecu, all the BS). I don't know why if it comes with a harness, that i should get another one. Also, i have searched that webpage and not really found what i was looking for. Maybe because i am computer illiterate but thanks for the help.

If it's a JDM engine, you will not be able to use the wire harness that comes with it. You MUST use a USDM wire harness, unless you like rerouting wires for a week.

The 96-98 EX wire harness is ideal because it comes with the VTEC wiring already there, OEM quality. The OBD2a ecu will plug right in also. Very little wire modifications are required. Believe me, life is much easier with the right wire harness.

Ok...you have a US Civic Si, right? If that's the case, the engine is "nearly" a direct swap. Reuse your Si axles, unless you want to go to a 5-lug conversion. The harness should be about the same. www.ff-squad.com should be able to help you with any necessary wire modifications. Oh, one more thing, you'll run into issues with the immobilzer on the USDM B18C5 ecu, assuming you're going with a 00-01 B18C5. Katman's website, ff-squad, will show you around that, but you'll always have your "CEL" light on. If you are running a 97-98 B18C5 ECU (OBD2a), then you will need a OBD2b-> OBD2a wire harness adapter and you shouldn't have any problems with immobilizer as I believe the 97-98's didn't have it yet. ecu.ff-squad.com can sell you the harness adapter, as it's pretty rare. That is through Katman as well.
