Smile jdm h22 swap

i have a 92 prelude si. i know a fair deal about cars and the prelude in general. i am going to swap out my engine for a v-tec engine but was wondering about JDM interchangability with US parts. is it harder to find parts for a JDM engine since the measurement units are different? also, would it be better to find a USDM prelude engine? Any extra info. about the swap, problems that may arise, reliablility of the swap/JDM engine, or anything else that may help me would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. if you have any sites that sell Prelude engines or would contain info about the swap, that would help too.

thanxs

osakajdmmotors.com is the best place I have found, and u may want to look at the h23a vtec engine, it has more displacement so more torque too

Jdm and USDM h22a are identically the same as far as measurment the diffrence is internals(c/r). as far as interchangable parts PSP, A/C Comp, Alternator, its all interhcangable even with the H23. your swap should be fairly easy, you car should have been pre wired for vtec but if it isn't u would add a vtec wire, vtec pressure switch and the ground to the vtec prssure switch. to do the swap without welding the exausht use a H22 USDM exausht manifold (DC,Greddy or OEM).also when swapping use your H23 fuel rail becasue the banjo screw is in the right place while the jdm was setup for RIGHT hand drive. ok well let me know if u got any other questions

everyone else who posted hit the main points, i have the jdm swap in my lude from a basic s to a jdm h22a, no problems in the swap what so ever, if ur into the performance get the 6puck act clutch and motor mount inserts it will be cheaper to install all at once.
also the cheapest place i found the complet swap for was $1800 from soko motors (www.soko.com)
you should definatly be able to get a h22a jdm for less then $2000.
oh yeah definatly get the helm manual from helminc.com (i think) it will give u step by step procedures to install ur engines and the directions are perfict not the cheap knock off book from the local automotive shop.
good luck!
oh yeah the h22a does pass smog! i dotn care what anyone says i got mine to pass with smog 2 regulations in california.
