tech wrench trouble with ecu id's

k, long story short, i bought a jdm b16 sirII manual engine and tranny for my 93 dx hatch. when i got it the id sticker was cleaned off, but it was deff a obd1. unfortunately once the engine was ready to roll it turned out to be a automatic ecu. engine light strobed on and off most of the time, and every other light it idled up and down like i was trying to race the old fart next to me at the light. got the guy to send me a new ecu, but now, although its obviously an obd 1, it has the id sticker scraped off too. the engine runs fine with it, but the ecu is twice the size of the d15's original and the automatic ecu he sent me. my mechanic said the later b16's had a larger ecu, but does that mean its american, or not on the same performance level as the type r i was supposed to get? also the car got a brand new clutch, and axles, and retains the stock mounts, except the rear brace is new, and the car shudders bad when accelerating. any ideas about any of this? would love to know what ecu he stuck me with this time.

does noone know what the larger ecu is?

found another set of numbers hidden under the pin connector housing that had a "pr3" in it. i know it to be an obd1, so why is it so much longer than the automatic, and the old one for the original d15? as far as i can tell its not chipped, but flys past 8500rpm if im not watching, and the v-tech isnt hitting till just after 6k rpm. the automatic ecu hit at just after 5k. any opinions or points to be made in light of this new info. are these characteristics of a obd1 pr3.
