.....or maybe not. Rumors has it that Honda pull the plug on the 2nd gen NSX, simply because the plug wasn't even plugged-in in the first place. If that's so, then the value of the current model *may* either stays the same, increase somewhat noticeably, or even significantly. Only time will tell if such rumor has any ring of truth to it.
Also, I believe the basis for such rumor may be rooted in the fact that Honda just publicly announced their plans to produce the S2200 (Coupe ver. of S2000) and the Dualnote DNX recently, with NO mentioning of putting out the 2004-05 2nd gen NSX, being a little over a year away from the projected launch date. I personally talked to a few sales rep at Acura who claims that they know something about what's going on with the new gen. NSX, but if I tell you what they say, none of you would believe it's true, so I digress....
Ok, ok, I can't resist, I'm gonna tell you anyway.
The three differing sales rep from differing dealerships that I've talked from almost a year back until 3 months ago ALL consistently mentioned something about 2 different ver. of "NSX's", one a budget model, priced at ~$50,000 and the other one at $90,000. The DNX may be the budget ver. they're talking about, since it resembles somewhat like a current model NSX-sleek and low-pro styling. But as far as the REAL sports ver. of the NSX (sorry but the DNX is NOT a sports car in the purest form), that bit of info, as of now as we all realize, hadn't been confirmed by Honda--Yet. But who knows?? I'm going to put a safe bet that Honda doesn't have one worked up on the drawing boards at the moment. All the big talks about the New gen NSX is probably about the DNX all along, so I will safely assume that the 2nd gen NSX ain't gonna happen, at least not for another 10 years or so after Honda gauged public interest and annual sales of the DNX and S2200.
So, that's MY speculation anyhow. Like you all care, blah blah blah, hah !!

:
But in the mean time, $28 ~ $32k for a good, low mileage, 91-92's is still a very good value/bargain IMO. I personally won't wait for the 2nd gen to come out so that the price of the first gen will drop, and the possibility of the price of a good used NSX retaining its value over the years is quite high. Hell, the $$ on the current gen. NSX's may even go up by the year 2010 should Honda never announced the forthcoming 2nd gen NSX. So if you got the dough to get a $30k 91 NSX coupe NOW, GRAB IT while you still can, fer Pete's sakes !!!
BTW $10,000 for a WHOLE (not half) NSX sounds super suspicious to me. Unless the DEA seized the car from a drug lord and auctioned it off without knowing the true value of it, OR someone jacked it or trashed it in an accident (most likely scenario for both situations), that $10,000 price tag IS NOT gonna happen in our lifetime, regardless how many miles logged on that car.....
Anyway, Happy V-Tec-ing !!
