anyone ever tightened the handbrake?

I am running into a little issue not anything really serious but I can be going full speed pull up the handbrake all the way and it barely slows down the car.....not that I do this on a regular basis or anything but for testing purposes only.....anyone ever tightened it up before...I was wondering if anyone knew a proper procedure to follow on these cars...thanks for the info in advance

The Handbrake (E-brake) isn't really meant to slow/stop the car, but just keep it stopped once stop.

understandable but could the handbrake be setup to lock the back wheels....say for a drift type setup....or is it something that I would have to retrofit a new handbrake system in....which is fine also just trying to weigh some options before I install a big brake bar in the vehicle....especially given the amount or say lack there of of room already in the car

Never heard of anyone tightening up there E-brake for a drift setup, I'm sure its possible, if your looking for a much quicker/tighter grip for a lock up. Its not hard to lock up the wheels with the stock setup, just have to pull really hard, its torture for the car but it can be done.

nah brake pads aren't even halfway worn yet....the car only has 24k on it....but I am saying I can pull the handbrake all the way until it is hitting plastic on plastic in the car and nothing....no lock whatsoever....I am just trying to avoid hitting a wall if I get up to speed

Its harder to get the wheels to lock up in a stright line if the car is already in a tight turn and you pull the handbrake the tires have a better chance of locking up.

yeah tried that still doesn't work....I mean sitting still thats cool wheels will stay put.....but I could hop in the car....not that I would want to and drive down the street with the handbrake on.....I dunno I am gonna pull it apart tomorrow and see whats up....I might just change out the rotors and pads....I got a drilled set and some nice pads for all 4 wheels just been procrastinating on putting them on
