AP2 headlights in my AP1

This isn't a "will they fit" thread. I have a friend with an 06 who wants to trade for my 02 headlights. I have JDM clear corner headlights in mine and he drools over them all the time so we agreed to swap lights. Now what i'm wondering is how difficult is the front bumper to get off? Also, are there any bolts/screws on the bumper or the lights that aren't easily noticeable or easily missed?

lmao I'm probably gonna have to agree on this one, just cause as much as I love my AP1's headlamps... the '06 model lamps are way too sexy to actually want to swap to AP1s.

And by the way... just cause they fit, doesnt mean they'll work. The HID igniter, ballast, and control unit... amongst a few other things are changed between the AP1 and the 2006 AP2 models, and yes they have different part numbers. So unless you're getting all the parts for a complete conversion and know exactly what all is involved (because trust me when I say there's a lot more to it than just making them fit... they're not plug and play swapable between MYs), then I'd steer well clear of this project.

^ a friend of mine mounted my ap2 lights onto his 01 without any problems. he wrecked his car and was checking fitment since his new lights hadn't come in yet. so he shouldn't have any problems.

to the op, there are iirc 4 bolts that hold the lights in. a couple are hard to get to. taking the bumper off is easy.

and yes, your friend is an idiot.

We are swapping from car to car..so we'll have everything that is necessary all together. Neither car is damaged or anything.

the wiring harnesses on the cars are different and this is NOT plug and play. And I think the 06+ have day time running lights which you will have to wire in also.

did you swap out the ballast too??? The ballast is the main difference, I think everything before the ballast is the same, like the actual harness under the hood but a lot of people get them without the ballast to save money and the connectors after the ballast are different. And you will still need to hook up the day time running lights if you wanted them

that answers it. we swapped the complete headlight assembly, including the ballast. i would assume the op is doing the same.

I'm definitely stuck on the AP1s headlights. Original formula.
