auto-down function reset
I've heard of a lot of people having this problem with their Driver's side window... when you put the convertible top down, both windows are supposed to automatically go down with it... ALL THE WAY!
a common problem is that while the passenger side window goes down fully, the driver's window will only go down about two or three inches.
Auto Window Down Problem When Operating the Convertible Top
Some 2000, 2001, and 2002, S2000 have experienced a problem with the auto window down feature when lowering and raising the convertible top. This is not to be confused with the driver side auto relay switch problem. This problem is thought to be caused do to people using towels and tubes to prevent the plastic window from creasing. The improper use of these items prevents the roof from fully retracting and causes the window sensors not to function properly. The fix is rather simple, you have to reset the windows by following the following 5 steps:
1. Start the car and leave it idle.
2. Hold the window button down all the way, until the window is completely down.
3. Let go and push it down again and hold the window button for 2 to 3 seconds then let go. (You should be able to hear or feel (very faintly) the motor/sensor reset.)
4. Pull up on the window button and roll the window up until it is all the way up, when it is up let go.
5. Pull the button up again for 2 to 3 seconds. (You should be able to hear or feel (very faintly) the motor/sensor reset.)
I just tried this on mine (I have had this problem since the day I bought it) and it worked. It didn't, however, fix my problem with the passenger window I posted about in the other thread.
Either way, good to have the instructions.
