Drag Radials to take S2K to track?? [reopened]

So, the reason why the original thread has been closed is...???

Boosted, what would be the point of the threads/forums, if all you do is to close it whenever a disagreement arrives among us all? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of having a forum???

Secondly, you may be right on 'some' things, but understand everyone here is to learn and educate his/herself. You are not being "educational" when you are just closing threads and replying condenscending comments/remarks, and not allowing an open forum within this site.

All this applies to everyone who is a member on superhonda.com.

Here are the remarks that have been entered...

"not trying to be a smart ass here, but... do you own an s2000? have you researched them?" What does your question about his ownership of S2k have to do with the thread?! NOTHING. Condescending though....

"i highly doubt [your doubt toward his statement/request has nothing to do with the purpose of this thread] there are enough people on this forum that regularly drag race their s2000's who can vote and create an accurate poll. you want first hand.. [he asked for a pole, not your opinion] i personally know 2 people who have broken their diffs by launching on street tires on the street with stock power. none of this he said she said bs... i've seen it. go on s2k-i and research it.
"

the only people i personally know that drag race regularly have broken theirs. again, these are people i'm friends with. "on the internet" it's still a rarity to see anyone "seriously" drag racing their s2000 with a stock diff... i actually don't know of anyone. [Who cares about your OPINION?! We want facts!]

goddammit man... you just dont get the point...

in all the time I've been on this board... I have never seen someone repost a closed thread to continue an argument.

I dont really care what you have to say in this thread... I didnt read it. i wasn't part of the original argument.

fact of the matter is, the original thread was closed because it got off track into something that had nothing to do with the original topic... and because of that, it turned into an argument. with those two existing conditions, site-wide, those threads are closed by the mods. Under no circumstances should the thread be re-opened or re-posted. it's part of the unwritten etiquette of SHO, and you need to learn it if you want to continue being a member of our site.

???

Since you did not read what I have replied, why are you even replying to this?! Why are you involving yourself in this at all?!

The original thread...

OK, this is my first rwd car, and I'm still getting used to it. it is a vortech s/c S2K w/ abt 350 whp. I am used to an AWD WRX with about 250 whp.

I have the stock wheels 16"s from an '01 as my spares and wanted to put drag radials on them b4 I go to the track with it. What kind should I get (size, brand, model)? where should I get them? what should I pay?

Also, everyone has told me not to get slick b/c the rear end would be destroyed on the s2k, so drag radials are the best route for traction & reliablity, right?

The posting got more interesting with this ....

There are people that race and have not replaced there diff. I got an Idea, lets do a Poll on how many people have broken diffs.

Just ask

Race: yes / no
Broken diff: yes / no

Frist hand only, none of this "i know a guy, that knows a guy, who's dog sniffed the ass of a guy who broke a diff" No flaming, short comments, straight to the nitty gritty.

Let's see how many HAVE or HAVE NOT broken a diff.

But somebody pos tthe poll, because I'm an internet idiot.

Then the thread got shot down when Boosted said this...

i highly doubt there are enough people on this forum that regularly drag race their s2000's who can vote and create an accurate poll.

you want first hand.. i personally know 2 people who have broken their diffs by launching on street tires on the street with stock power. none of this he said she said bs... i've seen it. go on s2k-i and research it.

Boosted, PreludeClone, and Boski don't seem to embrace any kind of discussions. Whenever someone has a question/inquiry/issue/idea, one of these 3 (or all of them) will just reply by saying "YOU DON"T GET IT" or "I HIGHLY DOUBT..." or "WTF is this?!"...!!!

Close it or not, you 3 are still not going to admit your incapibilities to embrace a discussion.

i closed the thread for a couple of reasons. 1) the thread strayed too far off topic and didn't need to continue any further. 2) i don't want non-sense bs advice posted in this forum. the bad information given by a certain person (you) isn't needed. you aren't being "educational" giving out false information. i'm not going to keep the thread open just so you can bitch in it.

do you want to keep your membership here on sho? if so, don't start threads like this trying to start an argument. it will get you nowhere. you could have just as easily sent me a pm and i could've explained it to you further.

don't do it again.

how are you going to have a poll when you know who the active people are in this forum. And they are not the ones who drag race. Yes, what you stated would have been very interesting to see...BUT, its not logical due to the fact that the SHO S2000 forum is not s 2 k i.com or any other s2000 specific forum. If you want...go ahead. Make your poll. See how many votes you get from people who have "actually" broken their differential. You MIGHT get one vote. Is that going to be savy? I think not.

Boosted is the moderator in here, and PreludeClone is soon to be another one. If you dont like it....i'm sorry. You're just going to have to get over it or move on to somewhere else. All they did was tell you the truth. Did they say that your poll is a stupid idea? No they didnt. They said in a round about way, what i just said. It's not logical due to the little amount of traffic that this section of superhonda gets. 2 votes out of tens of thousands of people who own s2000's is not going to be an accurate poll.

Now that that is all said. If you have any problems as to why a thread gets closed. DO NOT. I'll say it again. DO NOT MAKE ANOTHER THREAD BITCHING ABOUT IT. PM your moderator and you can discuss it outside the forum. Bitching posts like these bring the morale of the forum down.

and to say that those two do not engage in discussions is down right stupid on your part and obviously you have not been here enough to realize that i would not be putting them as mods if they didnt know what they were talking about. Piss my mods off and you will piss me off......thats never a good thing for YOU.
