got my S2K dynoed... LAME!!
this is completely stock... why's it so low??
right before I had it dynoed, I changed the oil to Mobil 1 synthetic... I just hit 3000 miles since I bought it, so it was due... and I'm not positive, but pretty sure the oil in it was regular oil, not synthetic. Also, while I was at it I carbon cleaned the throttle body. Then I lightly drove about 25 or so miles to the dyno place, so the oil was fresh.
could the switch from regular to synthetic have caused it to dyno lower, as the engine hasn't had time to get used to the synthetic?

Its all good dude...
your fine, does the car still make you happy? All dynos are different and there was a million factors that could make it +/- some HP. Dont trip. the oil has nothing to do with it. peope have way to thigh expectations of "FULL SYNTHETIC" oils. theyre not miracle workers, jsut have a stronger film strewngth and last longer.

still... I know the oil isn't a miracle worker or anything, it's just oil... regular/synthetic shouldn't really make a difference... I was just curious. And yeah, I couldn't be happier with the car either way... it's still great... but now I feel the need to push it up at least over 200 whp.
I guess I went into it expecting to see over 200 whp... I was of the understanding that most stock S2Ks dyno at like, 210. at 192, that's a pretty large loss through the drivetrain...
and I'm guessing it was 3rd gear, but I'm not positive.

yeah I guess it's fairly average... still, I guess I was just expecting more... the temperature I'm not exactly sure, but it was in the mid 60's...
either way, time to push it up over 200 whp

like said, all dynos are different. i wouldn't sweat it. also i noticed that the correction factor was std, lots of shops use an sae correction factor. i'm not positive on the exact differences, but i know they produce different numbers.
how many miles does your car have? this can determine the amount of power you make.

my car only has 41547 miles (as of this moment... dynoed about 50 miles ago). So I mean, that's not a lot and shouldn't be affecting the power. From reading that thread on S 2 K I, I guess I shouldnt be worrying... they're all mostly in the same range... mine's just on the low end of the spectrum.
the shop I took it to happens to have an Invidia cat back dual exhaust... used... he said he'd sell it to me for $200. So I'm probably gonna be all up on top of that, considering it retails new for like, three or four times that. Figure I'll start there, and go from there.

i wouldn't worry about it.
i just watched an STi that make 678hp (last friday) on a dynapack dyno, make 508hp on buschur's dyno. same tune. same gas. the VERY next day.
with the correction, the number would be about 640hp, which is STILL 40 off the dynapack numbers.
it has alot to do with the info they enter into the dyno for corrections, like vehicle weight, etc.
if your car is heavier, or lighter, than the number they put in? you can gain/lose alot of hp...
