Grinding Secound gear

Well I guess I couldn't multi task today. I was leavening a parking lot, but a idiot SUV driver decided to cut me off, so I try to pass him and he did it again and brake really hard. While I was try to pass him I started to shift into second gear but I kinda let go the clutch to quick and try shove the lever into second gear got this loud grinding sound. It lasted no more then two second, now I think my S2000 is acting weird. So what do you guys think about the small metal bits in there?

its probably fine... if u see a spontaneous variation of rpm change while in second.... u should have it checked out... other than that... you need to specify how its acting weird... or we are not going to know what the hell ur talking about

2 seconds? That is an AWFULLY looooonnnngggg time to be grinding a gear. Chances are that time in your mind is stretched out, while in reality, you ground the gear for no more than 1/2 second. Correct? How hard were you trying to jam it into gear with the clutch let out? If it was a quick and easy pull in, and you let off as soon as you felt/heard the grinding, you should be ok. If you were being a gorrilla and trying to force it in, then you either screwed up your sychromesh or did something worse. You'll have to specify exactly how your car is acting, and to what magnitude the differences are.
If you're like me and you do something stupid, anything you can find wrong or feels different is amplified, like, ten times when in reality these things are really nothing. I freaked out for a while after I smacked the rev-limmiter in my old car pretty hard in first gear while gettn' on it. The car was perfectly fine though.

Well the car seem fine now but I would still like to find out what kind of damage I did to the tranny. I didn't shove it in there, I just kinda hold it in place and trying to avoid hitting the guy. After that the shifting was kinda hard to get into gear, but today it seem fine. Hopefully there wouldn't be anymore grinding for this tranny.

you'll be fine. if there's slight notchiness then try changing fluids but one misshifting shouldnt do much.
