I heard the Invidia dual on a car at a local meet here. Great sound. A lot of people complain that it's too loud for longer trips, but hey, it's a great exhaust and a good purchase if you get it.

I know single is suposed to be more efficient airflow-wise, which is why single pipes on inline engines makes more sense. Why split the air again after joining it at the end of the manifold? That just creates turbulance, resistance and therefore loss of efficiency and therefore loss of power. I'm with AP1 S2k in that it doesn't make sense to have duals on a 4bgr for power reasons. And yes, the stock exhaust is a tank. I know first hand as mine fell on top of me when I took it off.

However, so I dont sound like a complete hypocrite, I like the look of dual on any car. More symetrical in a way. In just about every case of exhaust on this car, dual is pure asthetics. It is in fact a fake dual exhaust as a true dual would have twin manifolds and twin CATs (I have seen twin manifolds for 4 cyl engines BTW. Don't think they work too well.)

I also love the resonating sound of the two pipes out the back that you can't quite get with a single pipe. I've heard the Amuse single before, and it sounds like a beast, but it doesn't have that harmonic resonation going on. Kinda like two people humming the same note vs one. It sounds different, and I like it. . . . which is why I bought stereo.

I find that interesting. Its possible that Invidia is trying to listen to its customer base due to the feedback that the exhaust was too loud. So they quieted it down to make the pussies who wanted the Invidia without the noise, happy. I know Invidia is one of the more popular brands for the S2k. A few people might have made uneducated purchases and complained.

I like noise myself, however when you take your S2k on 14 hour BW road trips, you can have second thoughts. Mine is loud (but under 93 dB) when I want the noise, and quiet when cruising so long trips dont become exhausting. Even then, cell-phone conversations are pointless in my car. And I enjoy that.

my invidia is pretty loud compared to other s2000 exhausts....but I had one on my 350 that was twice as loud with no test pipes.....if you leave the silencers in though its a very quiet exhaust and if I was to guess if you wanted an in between level just leave the baffles in and add a test pipe

Don't silencers serisouly restrict airflow though?

To hell with silencers! Let it flow freely like a Metalica concert. 'Tis music to the tuned ears of enthusiasts.

Who does buy silencers? . . . :gay . . . !

My exhaust is loud, but quiet enough to get away without needing to have a spot for silencers. Even then, it's loud enough for my freinds to know I'm about to arive when I'm a few blocks away. Don't ya just love that? And tunnels . . . cant forget about tunnels. . . . and distrupting cell phone calls.

As Smurf350z said, "to each his own". Make as much noise as what suits your fancy. And if a cop stops you, just tell him/her that it's a deer deterant.

Let the symphony of exhausts sing out, shattering windows, breaking fine china, rattling the dentures out of the mouths of the old farts who complain as we drive by under full throttle!
